Hi, I’m Hyla
Boudoir photography has always been one of my favorite genres of photography. To see my client connect with herself, to see and love herself, is one of the greatest privileges as a photographer. And it is part of my own healing journey to love myself.
Like most women, the process to love and accept myself has been a lifelong journey. I was not always kind to myself, the opposite of that actually, and it took a very long time for me to realize that this body, this life, is a gift. To live life on my own terms, and to not let my insecurities rule me - it is a choice that I make, repeatedly.
All of us have things that we are insecure about ourselves, things that we want to work on or things that we simply don’t like. And that is ok. Embracing ourselves means that we still accept ourselves and love ourselves regardless. It’s saying to ourselves and to the world: “This is me and I’m going to live my life the way I see fit.” It’s knowing that you deserve the same unconditional love that you give to others.
No matter where you are in this journey, I wish for you all the love and kindness that you deserve and when you are ready, I would dearly love to be your photographer.
The Boudoir Experience
Your boudoir experience begins with a consultation to get to know each other and to see if we are a right fit.
There is a certain degree of vulnerability that comes with being photographed, regardless of what you are or are not wearing. I think anyone who has ever been photographed can attest to this. My goal as your photographer is to create a safe place where you can be yourself and to support you through this process.
We’ll be real. We will laugh. We will commiserate. I’m going to help you through out this process without judgement.
After booking a session, you will receive a prep guide that goes over clothing options and how to prep your hair and skin for the session.
During our session, I will work with you as we shift from pose to pose, customizing each pose so that it works for YOUR body.
Your feeling of comfort comes first, and I will only go as far as you feel comfortable - physically and emotionally. That means that how much or little you show the camera is 100% up to you.
